Holocaust Memorial Day 2014
Our speakers have had an exceptionally busy January, talking at schools and civic events around Yorkshire and beyond, and being interviewed for radio and TV programmes. Additionally, Rudi Leavor has sung El Male Rachamim at some of the regional events.
In Leeds on 26 January, the keynote speaker was Chris Butler, Chief Executive of Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. You can read his speech on our Reflections page. The Theatre Company Blah Blah Blah staged a production of Millions of Kisses, based on the letters of Barry Anysz's mother, his grandmother and her niece. Barry has written a piece about his family which is also to be found on our Reflections page. Candles were lit and the commitments read by Julia Kinch, granddaughter of Iby Knill, and Becky Black, granddaughhter of Eugene Black, both camp survivors, before Rudi led the minute's silence.
