The Chillag Family Charitable Trust

We are delighted to receive a most generous donation from the family of our dear friend John Chillag who died almost five years ago. John was our most ardent Holocaust educator who dedicated his life to working with young people and adults to help them to understand and learn the lessons of his own sad experiences. Deported from Hungary with his family in 1944, John survived Auschwitz-Birkenau, endured slave labour in horrendous conditions in Bochum and was liberated in Buchenwald Concentration Camp in 1945. John never forgot his experiences, but turned this into a positive life force as he worked tirelessly within the field of Holocaust education. We are truly grateful to Lawrence, Elaine and Jonathan Chillag for helping us to ensure John's legacy is sustained and future generations may learn.
