Janet R. Kirchheimer is an American poet whose work has appeared in a variety of publications both in the US and abroad. In her 2007 collection "How to Spot One of Us" she draws on her family's Holocaust history for inspiration and transforms their tragedy into a moving tribute. Her work has been nominated for numerous prizes and endorsed by Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel and Holocaust scholar Sir Martin Gilbert, among others.
In addition to her writing and Holocaust work, Janet teaches at the Jewish Centre for Learning and Leadership in New York. The poems reproduced here appear by kind permission of the author.
